My insanely short take on the Harry Reid/Mitt Romney Tax Return Dust Up.

In a nutshell.
If Harry Reid is lying about having a source that says Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for ten years, then he’s got more guts and less brains than I thought.
Because if he’s lying, he just made Mitt Romney that much more sympathetic. And it makes the right wing talking point that Obama’s playing  Chicago style politics that much more plausible.
Having said that, I don’t think he’s lying.
God knows, I’m not Reid’s biggest fan by a long shot. But I don’t think he’d put his nuts on the chopping block unless he was damn certain he had an Ace in his pocket.
Meanwhile, I understand that Romney is offened. If was accused of, say, robbing a bank, I’d be offended too.
But I’d also be double checking my calender and appointment book to make sure I had a firm alibi.
So to all of you on one side screaming at Reid to name his source and those on the other screaming at Romney to release his tax forms?
You’re both right!
Romney. Reid. Let’s unzip those flies and smack those dicks on the table.  I’ll get the ruler.
